He wants it all!

Time flied.  The new year is approaching.  I am enjoying my short “vacation” from school and internship while working full-time.  It is only couple weeks left before the next busy semester starts as well as interning at a supportive housing for homeless women with mental conditions and substance misuse.  I am hoping that I will graduate with my Bachelor of Social Work by the end of 2013.

God had blessed me with this agency which allows me to use the gifts that He gave me to serve this specific population.  Looking back, a few months ago, I was preparing my resume for finding an agency for my field placement.  Two of my co-workers helped me to revise my resume and made it looks professional/presentable.  One of them made fun of me saying all these years that I had spent living in America, I did not accomplish anything.  He also said that I should have finished school at least.  His comment was so truth.  I was a lazy student who dislikes school.  No one gave me direction and I was spending my time hanging out with friends.  I am good at art.  I took many art classes because I enjoyed them but did not have a desire to get a degree.  Somehow I was a born again Christian, my life had changed forever.  God gave me hopes and directions.  Instead of going back to school, I spent over ten years to study the Bible and to get involved in many church activities.

When I look at my resume, even though I did not finish school (not yet), nor getting some sort of awards.  But my resume shows me that how God provided me with my current full-time job, the places that He wanted me to know and study about Him, and the places that He wanted me to serve His people.  Most important is that this resume shows that how God prepare me to be His servant, so that when I finish school then I can be well-equipped to be a social worker to serve the poor (His children).

How is your resume look like?  If God decided to require all of us to show Him our resume in order to enter heaven, do you think He will let us in?  What would you put in your resume?  What have you accomplished?  Many people spend their time trying to achieve their dreams and goals.  Whatever we are trying to do, are we doing it for God or for our own desire?  God wants to recruit each of us.  Would you consider spending most of your time doing and focusing on Him - the things that last forever?  Remember nothing can last and everything will be burned up on judgment day.  The bottom line is God wants every part of us, and He wants us to do the same to Him.

My resume certainly does not look good to this world.  But I know in God’s eye, He is very proud of me and is very pleased.  My resume will be expanded with more things that I am going to do for Him in the future.  One day when I give my resume to God, I know for sure that I will enter the heaven forever.  Will you join me?

Psalm 11:4

The Lord is in his holy temple;
the Lord is on his heavenly throne.
He observes everyone on earth;
his eyes examine them.

I love this song very much recently.  It is called 'He wants it all' by Forever Jones.  This song should become a worship song in every church :)

Lyrics:

There's a voice that cries out in the silence,
searching for heart that will love him,
longing for child that will give him their all,
give it all, he wants it all

There's a God that walks over the earth,
he searching for heart that is desperate,
longing for child that will give him their all,
give it all, he wants it all

and he says, love me, love me with your whole heart
he wants it all today
serve me, serve me with you life now
he wants it all today
bow down, let go of your idols
he wants it all today (x4)

There's a God that walks over the earth,
he searching for heart that is desperate,
longing for child that will give him their all,
give it all, he wants it all

and he says, love me, love me with your whole heart
he wants it all today
serve me, serve me with you life now
he wants it all today
bow down, let go of your idols
he wants it all today (x4)

Oh oh oh, all of you, more of you
wants it all today (whole thing x3)

he wants it all today, he wants is all today
so give it all

There's a voice that cries out in the silence,
searching for heart that will love him,
longing for child that will give him their all,
give it all, he wants it all

Hi, Kit
Happy New Year!
I'm so happy to read your article. It is very good article to read at the beginning of New Year.
Thanks for your boldness to invite people to your place. This morning we remembered what Jesus did for us on the cross. Give big thanks to the Lord God for inviting me to His house. Over 40 years ago I accepted His invitation and asked Him to come in my heart to have personal relationship. I'm sure I can go to the place you are going.
It is good to remind this Christianity 101 any time.
Thanks again. Love you,Hiroko
