Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.kithttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17121316394101854474noreply@blogger.comBlogger29125tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4427479338573174042.post-12648654001968056502022-05-19T21:06:00.002-05:002022-05-20T11:23:15.471-05:00A Mushroom House<p style="text-align: right;"> </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhFqNXwOKfp8hwgFQSUvDKmJlEGDUC2o4FZd4Iv9HcHkjaq11Wmh5vddDOenrB7k18FrE5QbRfLmo6R2zZm1djkj67JeoxtslpPUDsRoUcnsYqYx9GxvepTjttBMxAq5iD7Nk9nZD3U1CwRB1zLZvbn64g4mNyg2oFHrAwO-GzSDnfiH0uIvgezDC7i6w/s4160/C4907386-FBEE-4469-B045-27E0791AF923.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="A Mushroom House" border="0" data-original-height="4160" data-original-width="3120" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhFqNXwOKfp8hwgFQSUvDKmJlEGDUC2o4FZd4Iv9HcHkjaq11Wmh5vddDOenrB7k18FrE5QbRfLmo6R2zZm1djkj67JeoxtslpPUDsRoUcnsYqYx9GxvepTjttBMxAq5iD7Nk9nZD3U1CwRB1zLZvbn64g4mNyg2oFHrAwO-GzSDnfiH0uIvgezDC7i6w/w300-h400/C4907386-FBEE-4469-B045-27E0791AF923.jpeg" title="A Mushroom House" width="300" /></a></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: georgia;"><br /></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: georgia;">Few years ago, a friend of mine was hosting a small group at her house. Three months prior the meeting, we were given Hebrews 4 to meditate on. Also, we were asked to create any form of art pieces to go along with the Bible passage and share with the group what the Lord had spoken to us. On the day of the meeting, it seemed like this phase 'enter His rest' was the theme that was spoken to most of us; including me.</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: georgia;"><br /></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: georgia;">I cut a mushroom shape out of a piece of flat clay and drew a door, tree barks and some spiral shapes on top of the mushroom house. The phase 'enter His rest' spoke to me that I would enter God's house one day after I died; and I would live in a resting place with the Lord forever. I also pictured myself bouncing around His place like the spongy texture of a giant mushroom. The spiral shapes symbolized believers who I would be meeting and living with in His place.</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: georgia;"><br /></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: georgia;">Most people when they see mushrooms, they will refuse to eat them. My husband is one of those people. But once they taste it, they might realize how much they have been missing out this delicious food. (I guess it only applies to some people; not all. lol!) Same ideal with the Good News. Not all people would accept salvation only comes from the Son of God. People heard about it, knew about it but never taste it. Until one day they finally taste the Gospel and understand the forgiveness of sins; then they become to realize that how much they have been missing out the goodness of God.</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: georgia;"><br /></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: georgia;">Are you one of those people that refuse to hear the Gospel? Even though you heard about it but you have not put your faith to taste the Good News of Jesus. In Hebrews 4: 7 said, "Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts." The more you harden your heart, the more you are walking further away from God. The more you are walking further away from God, the more you are away from entering His place to rest forever. Hebrews 4:6 mentioned only some people can enter His rest. Be sure you are one of them!</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span class="content" style="box-sizing: border-box; text-align: start;"><span style="font-family: georgia;"><br /></span></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: georgia;"><span style="color: #ffa400;"><span class="content" style="box-sizing: border-box; text-align: start;"><b>Hebrews 4: 11-13</b> </span><span style="caret-color: rgb(18, 18, 18); font-size: 16px; text-align: left;">Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will perish by following their example of disobedience. </span><span class="verse v12" data-usfm="HEB.4.12" style="box-sizing: border-box; caret-color: rgb(18, 18, 18); font-size: 16px; text-align: left; text-indent: 1em;"><span class="content" style="box-sizing: border-box;">For the word of God is alive and active. Ever since my money that i have invested in has already doubled its values. I'm not good in finance, but I'm truly thankful for the Lord's provisions for my life. I had never have to deal with debts and experience any financial struggles. His provisions allow me to give my tithes, support missionary friends and help others with financial needs. Within the first year of marriage, my husband and I managed to live a debt free life. God is faithful to us!</span></p><p style="font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px; min-height: 15px;"><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: medium;"><br /></span></p><p style="font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: medium;"><b>In Matthew 25:14-30</b>, talks about a master entrusted his wealth and gave his three servants money according to their abilities. The first servant received five bags of gold; the second received two bags; and the third received one bag. Then he went on his journey. The first and second servants put their money to work and gained double what they first received. The third servant dug a hole in the ground and hid his master’s money.</span></p><p style="font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: medium;"><br /></span></p><p style="font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: medium;">After a long time the master returned and settled accounts with them. The first and second servants each received the same praise from the master, <b>‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’</b> To the third servant, the master replied, <b>‘You wicked, lazy servant! You should have put my money on deposit with the bankers, so that when I returned I would have received it back with interest.’</b> The servant was punished and thrown outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.</span></p><p style="font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: large;"><br /></span></p><p style="font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: large;">This parable reminds me that the master is Jesus, the Son of God, who will return one day and we will have to give account. God has given us a responsibility, according to our abilities. We have some work to do. It doesn’t matter how much God has given us but what are we doing with it that matter the most. Do you know who is your master? What has God given you? What are you doing with it? Are you ready for His return? What will Jesus say to you on that day? Everything belongs to God and we are entrusted and are given responsibility to manage His wealth. Don’t be a lazy servant, the result of the punishment is too harsh for us to bare.</span></p><p style="font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;"><span style="color: #ff00fe; font-family: arial; font-size: medium;"><br /></span></p><p style="font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;"><span style="color: #ff00fe; font-family: arial; font-size: medium;">Proverbs 13:11</span></p><p style="font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;"><span style="color: #ff00fe; font-family: arial; font-size: medium;"><br /></span></p><p style="font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: medium;"><span style="color: #ff00fe;">Wealth gained hastily will dwindle,</span><span style="color: #ff00fe;"> but whoever gathers little by little will increase it.</span></span></p>kithttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17121316394101854474noreply@blogger.com0United States37.09024 -95.7128918.780006163821156 -130.869141 65.400473836178847 -60.556641tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4427479338573174042.post-17844741897777415142014-02-08T20:16:00.002-06:002014-02-17T22:11:12.647-06:00My Love<span style="font-family: Jokerman; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%; mso-bidi-font-family: 'Times New Roman';"></span><span style="font-family: Jokerman; line-height: 115%; mso-bidi-font-family: 'Times New Roman';"><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><span class="eop"><span style="font-family: 'Calibri','sans-serif'; line-height: 115%; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-fareast-language: EN-US;">

<div class="MsoNormal">
<span face="Verdana, sans-serif">Time flied. The new
year is approaching. I am enjoying my
short “vacation” from school and internship while working full-time. It is only couple weeks left before the next busy
semester starts as well as interning at a supportive housing for homeless women
with mental conditions and substance misuse.
I am hoping that I will graduate with my Bachelor of Social Work by the
end of 2013.</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span face="Verdana, sans-serif">God had blessed me with this agency which allows me to use
the gifts that He gave me to serve this specific population. Looking back, a few months ago, I was
preparing my resume for finding an agency for my field placement. Two of my co-workers helped me to revise my
resume and made it looks professional/presentable. One of them made fun of me saying all these
years that I had spent living in <st1:country-region w:st="on">America</st1:country-region>, I did not accomplish
anything. He also said that I should have
finished school at least. His comment
was so truth. I was a lazy student
who dislikes school. No one gave me
direction and I was spending my time hanging out with friends. I am good at art. I took many art classes because I enjoyed them
but did not have a desire to get a degree.
Somehow I was a born again Christian, my life had changed forever. God gave me hopes and directions. Instead of going back to school, I spent over ten years to study the Bible and
to get involved in many church activities.</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span face="Verdana, sans-serif">When I look at my resume, even though I did not finish
school (not yet), nor getting some sort of awards. But my resume shows me that how God provided
me with my current full-time job, the places that He wanted me to know and
study about Him, and the places that He wanted me to serve His people. Most important is that this resume shows that
how God prepare me to be His servant, so that when I finish school then I can
be well-equipped to be a social worker to serve the poor (His children).</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span face="Verdana, sans-serif">How is your resume look like? If God decided to require all of us to show Him our resume in order to enter heaven, do you think He will let us in? What would you put in your resume? What have you accomplished? Many people spend their time trying to
achieve their dreams and goals. Whatever we are trying to do, are we doing it for God or for our own desire? God wants to recruit each of us. Would you consider spending most of your time
doing and focusing on Him - the things that last forever? Remember nothing can last and everything will
be burned up on judgment day. The bottom line is God wants every part of us, and He wants us to do the same to Him.</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span face="Verdana, sans-serif">My resume certainly does not look good to this world. But I know in God’s eye, He is very proud of me
and is very pleased. My resume will be
expanded with more things that I am going to do for Him in the future. One day when I give my resume to God, I know for sure that I will enter the heaven forever. Will you join me?</span></div>

<span style="color: red;">Update from my previous post</span>: I was so so excited when I received a letter from the White House last night. I didn't expect that I would get another respond from them, since I have already gotten their email. This time the letter is typed but our President Obama signed for it. So I would like to share my joy with you. What should I do with the letter? Is it worth to frame it? What do you think? :)</div>

I'm so sure that they must send out this "standard" email to everyone who have contacted the White House with the same issue. Below are the highlights in the email:<br /><br /><br /><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5m61QK8QiXA7wKFtlcC5ZQYppLr7dgbwjAP7Z9niKaZUbakxo_OjcqKtBhMjC0y8dGriwoWNcqcWoS09BnoTVoN3YyTEW51D6QlSQnyvON6T_AYQCP33yz3rZKGpGxGKPi3hlQQU6POyzKDCJsZC2A4s-7rOpsyyP4yGrciV8zBQLBlk9YIXGCDWL1w/s1151/0A1BCA78-BA68-479C-9CF8-72F1976D30BB_1_201_a.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="The White House, Washington. The President’s view has been shaped by conversations with his family, friends, and the people who work with him at the White House. Ultimately, President Obama’s support of same-sex marriage is grounded in his values and his firm belief in treating others as we want to be treated.</span></span></i></p><p style="text-align: left;"><i><span style="font-family: times;"><span style="color: #45818e;">The President knows that people have differing views on marriage and that those views, even if we disagree strongly, should be respected. This is not a Federal issue, and the President knows we must be respectful of religious liberty, including the freedom of churches and other faith institutions to determine their sacraments. While Americans will continue to have differing views on marriage, we must remain committed to working together to build a stronger, fairer America</span><span style="color: #76a5af;">.</span></span></i></p>

<div style="text-align: center;">
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------</div>
<div>My recent homework assignment is to write a letter to any elected officials, and I chose to write to our President since he was publicly supporting the same-sex marriages. Since I have not written anything on my blog, so I am just going to post the letter here.<br />
<br />
<p><span style="line-height: 200%;"><span style="color: blue; font-family: times;">Dear President Obama,</span></span><span><span style="color: blue; font-family: times;"><br /></span></span></p><p><span><span style="color: blue; font-family: times;">My name is Kit, and I am a social
work student. I am writing to urge you to consider not supporting
the legalization of same-sex marriages; as well as becoming the supporter of Proposition
8.</span></span></p><p><span style="color: blue; font-family: times;">I am a Christian and I am also aware
of that you, Mr. President, are also a Christian as you go to a Christian
church on Sundays. I believe that Mr.
President, you are very familiar with what the Bible says about marriage and
homosexuality. The Bible clearly says
that marriage is a union between one man and one woman, </span><span style="color: #e69138; font-family: times;">“<i>Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his
wife, and they shall become one flesh. Genesis 2:24</i>”</span><span style="color: blue; font-family: times;">. Moreover, according to the Bible which states that homosexual behavior is an
abomination and unnatural, </span><i style="font-family: times;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">“You shall not
lie with a male as with a woman. It is
an abomination. Leviticus 18:22”</span></i><i style="color: blue; font-family: times;"> </i><i style="font-family: times;"><span style="color: #a64d79;">“For this reason God gave them up to vile
passions. For even their women exchanged
the natural use for what is against nature.
Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in
their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and
receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due. Romans 1:26-27”</span></i></p><p><span style="color: blue; text-indent: 0.5in;"><span style="font-family: times;">I am worried that if you legalize same-sex marriages,
it might increase negative effects of the nation:</span></span></p><p><span style="color: blue; font-family: times; text-indent: -0.5in;">a) Impact on education: Legalizing same-sex marriage, there is a </span><span style="color: blue; font-family: times;">possibility that schools will </span><span style="caret-color: rgb(0, 0, 255); color: blue; font-family: times; text-indent: -0.5in;">teach same sex marriage to the students without the consent of their parents.</span></p><p><span style="color: blue; font-family: times;">b) Impact on religious freedom: Many rabbis, priests and pastors might need
to stop preaching the Scriptures about homosexual topics, as well as perform
homosexual marriages to avoid being sued for discrimination even though they
know it is against their religious beliefs.</span></p><p><span style="color: blue; font-family: times;">c) Impact on marriage: Legalizing same-sex marriage might change
the definition of marriage from a union between one man and one woman to a
union between two men, two women, one adult and one young child, or even human
with animal. Not to mention that
legalizing same-sex marriage might also lead to legalizing polygamy.</span></p></div></div><div><div><p><span><span style="color: blue; font-family: times;">In conclusion, Mr. President, I urge
you to stand firm in your religious belief and uphold God’s standard on what is
right and wrong for the society. Please
reconsider not to legalize same-sex marriage as it will certainly bring a
tremendous effect on the nation instantly and our future generations. Also, I urge you to vote “Yes” on Proposition
8 to keep marriage between one man and one woman.</span></span><span style="font-family: times;"><br /></span><span><span style="color: blue; font-family: times;"><br /></span></span></p><p><span><span style="color: blue; font-family: times;">Please
let me know your current stand on the issue.
Thank you for your time and consideration!</span></span><span style="font-family: times;"><br /></span><span style="font-family: times;"><br /></span><span><span style="color: blue; font-family: times;">Sincerely,</span></span><span style="color: blue; font-family: times;"><br /></span><span style="color: blue; font-family: times;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="color: blue; font-family: times;">Kit</span></p>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Recently I picked up a book <i>Food Rules</i> to read because Oprah said it’s good (Well, it’s not everything that Oprah said were THAT good).<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>I realized that I broke 99% of these rules according to the book.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>For example, rule #4: Avoid food products that contain high-fructose corn syrup.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Even though I know high-fructose corn syrup is bad for you, but I usually ignore it cause I can’t stop eating my cereal.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Rule #6:<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Avoid food products that contain more than five ingredients.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Really?<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Where on earth I can find any products like that?<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Rule #10:<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Avoid foods that are pretending to be something they are not; examples such as, margarine and nonfat cream cheese.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>I didn’t know nonfat cream cheese is not cream cheese, oops!<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Rule #54:<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>“Breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, dinner like a pauper.”<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>For real?<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>My own rule is, “Breakfast like a queen, lunch like a </span><a href="http://greenanswers.com/q/183382/animals-wildlife/which-animal-eats-most-food-every-day"><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">blue whale</span></a><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">, dinner like a monster.”</span></div>
</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I’m a sucker for all kind of foods and I always eat excessively.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Eating is not a sin but excessive eating that is going to hurt the body that becomes sin.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>I’m going to try to eat healthy and try not to overstuffed myself.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Next time if I crave for foods (junk or fried foods), I might go to God in prayer and ask Him to take my hunger away.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Also, I would like to thank Him that He is the bread and water which can satisfy our hunger and quench our thirst FOREVER.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Hopefully, with God’s help that I will develop self-control and finally saying to food, “Enough is enough!”</span></div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span><br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Now what does God say about food?</span></div>
<div style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">

I don't really like cooking but sometimes I would like to create some dishes. Here is a dish called 'String Beans Onion Fish Cake with Fermented Bean Sauce.'</div>
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<br />

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: center;">Clean the string beans, cut both ends and discard them. Cut the string beans as desire length. Slice the onion and green onion. Prepare several cloves of garlic (not shown).<br />

<div align="center" style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: 9.5pt;"><span style="font-family: Times, "Times New Roman", serif;">You can find the fish paste in the frozen section in an Asian market. It usually contains salt so you can just add some black pepper, green onion, or shrimps or anything you can think of to make this fish meat tastes more delicious. A friend said there was a thunder around 8pm but I totally missed that because I was watching Founder’s week online. I guess God’s voice/message was louder than the thunder.</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; border: medium none;"></div><br />
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; border: medium none;">There were some conversations going in the office before the snowstorm. Some colleagues took the weather warning very seriously and went home earlier than usual (including me). Some colleagues even warned their friends to avoid taking certain routes to go home; especially not to take the Lake Shore Drive (of course, some of their friends ignored their advice). Some colleagues chose not to believe that the snow storm would bring the city 20 or more inches of snow. Some even said, ‘It is not the end of the world! Why do people make such big deal?’</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; border: medium none;"><br />
</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; border: medium none;">Different people react the weather warning differently. What if the news says, ‘Jesus is coming!’ How would you response? In <a href="http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=matthew%2024&version=NIV">Matthew 24</a>, Jesus told his disciples that the signs of the end of the age; and how He returns.</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; border: medium none;"><br />
</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; border: medium none;">Here are some signs that Jesus revealed to His disciples in <a href="http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=matthew%2024&version=NIV">Matthew 24</a>:</div><br />
1) Verse 5: For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many.<br />
<br />
2) Verse 6: You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come.<br />
<br />
<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_J7TbgUcEf4w/TU924yPWtFI/AAAAAAAABQk/MXeXwpSlS68/s1600/blizzard2.jpg" style="clear: right; cssfloat: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" h5="true" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_J7TbgUcEf4w/TU924yPWtFI/AAAAAAAABQk/MXeXwpSlS68/s320/blizzard2.jpg" width="240" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">My friend and I were out looking for food during the storm.</td></tr></tbody></table><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; border: medium none;"><br /></div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; border: medium none;">3) Verse 7: Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places.</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; border: medium none;"><br />
</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; border: medium none;">4) Verse 21: For then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now – and never to be equaled again.</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; border: medium none;"><br />
</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; border: medium none;">5) Verse 23-24: At that time if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or, ‘There he is!’ do not believe it. For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect – if that were possible.</div><br />
6) Verse 30: At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory.<br />
<br />
7) Verse 31: And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.<br />
<br />
After reading all these verses, you might ask when will it happen? Jesus answered, ‘No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.’ Certainly, Jesus is coming back indeed. If you are not a believer, would you please consider Jesus is the Son of God; and invite Him into your heart. Jesus also mentioned, ‘Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left.’ Do you think you will be taken by Jesus when He came back? How certain are you? Do you want to be left behind watching your other family members or friends went with Jesus on that day?<br />
<br />
In conclusion, Jesus also gave us His weather warning that will happen on the day He returns. I hope you will take this warning seriously. Keep Watch and Be Prepared!<br />

Happy New Year! Almost a year ago I found this <a href="http://smariek.blogspot.com/2008/04/marijke.html">beautiful pattern</a> and I have been on and off knitting this scarf for my sister. I used less than three skeins of Vanna’s Choice rose color yarns and US 9 knitting needles for this project. The scarf is about 49 inches long and 9 inches wide, so it’s kind of chunky. Basically, you can use whatever yarn and knit your desire of length. The pattern has some new stitches that I needed some helps from YouTube to learn the stitches. Thanks God for the technology!<br />
<br />
You can find the pattern <a href="http://smariek.blogspot.com/2008/04/marijke.html">here</a>, and I thought I might include some video tutorials to help us knit. Just click on the abbreviation for videos!<br />
<br />
Stitch Glossary:<br />
<br />
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_9XImtoQmZ8&feature=related">K</a> = Knit<br />
<br />
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DkgTWTnQqaQ">K1-B</a> (Knit 1 through back loop) = Insert needle into the back loop of the stitch and knit it.<br />
<br />
K2-B (Knit 2 through back loop) = Same as K1-b, except you knit 2 stitches through the back loop (one stitch after the other, not K2Tog through back loop).<br />
<br />
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sBpbLmgwHFA&feature=related">K2Tog</a> = Knit 2 Together<br />
<br />
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pEfwWIA6-6o&feature=related">M1</a> (Make One) = Insert needle from behind under running thread between the stitch just worked and the next stitch, and <strong><span style="color: red;">PURL</span></strong> this thread.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f8R2sj1JsKg">M5</a> (Make Five, a 5 stitch increase in one stitch) = (K1, YO, K1, YO, K1). Just do the first set from the video but you need to make five stitches instead of three.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dVxnSpFJl6s&feature=related">P</a> = Purl<br />
<br />
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M7RtzEDw6Xc">P2Tog</a> = Purl 2 stitches together<br />
<br />
P3Tog = Purl 3 stitches together. Same idea like P2Tog, instead of purl two stitches together, you need to purl three stitches together.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VM0KqrmCk2g">SK2P</a> (Slip 1, Knit 2 Together, Pass over) is done as follows:<br />
<br />
1. Slip 1 stitch.<br />
2. Knit 2 stitches together.<br />
3. Pass the slipped stitch over.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RGwcYW3GG3M&feature=channel">SSK</a> = Slip, Slip, Knit<br />

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I7jIzwO5Nv4&feature=related">Kitchener Stitch</a> (to graft two pieces together)<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_J7TbgUcEf4w/TR69A3G4oZI/AAAAAAAABOk/4sTwnW-3MkU/s1600/Sister+Chunky+Scarf+2.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" n4="true" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_J7TbgUcEf4w/TR69A3G4oZI/AAAAAAAABOk/4sTwnW-3MkU/s320/Sister+Chunky+Scarf+2.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">The scarf was perfectly knitted without any mistake until I was doing the Kitchener Stitch at the end. Did you see an ugly line across the scarf? When you graft two pieces together, the right side should be up facing you and I did the opposite. As a result, the scarf is no longer perfect anymore. This reminds me of one of my non-believer family members always said that she is a good person who has done nothing wrong in her life. In <a href="http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Romans+3;&version=NIV;">Romans 3</a> mentions that “There is no one righteous, not even one ...… there is no one who does good, not even one ...… there is no fear of God before their eyes.” Many people think they are good people and they can go to heaven by trying to do good, such as, helping others, giving money to charity or going to church. However, God looks at our hearts first. If our hearts have no place for God, no matter how many good deeds we had done, it won’t guarantee to make us righteous or to earn our tickets to heaven.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div>How can we be righteous? In <a href="http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Romans+3;&version=NIV;">Romans 3:22</a>, “This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe.” Once a person who believes in Jesus Christ is his/her Lord and Savior, then his/her sins will be forgiven. Jesus took that sins to exchange His righteousness and put it on him/her; so that when God sees him/her, He sees Jesus. That is the reason why Jesus died on the cross for us, so that whoever believe in Him will have new and eternal life. Isn’t it life would be more meaningful? Also, we are guaranteed to hold first-class tickets to heaven. We don’t need to pay extra luggage fees because we are going to heaven with empty handed, for the Lord prepares everything for us.<br />
<br />
I pray for my family member will soon to confess that she is a sinner, and start seeing the Light of God. God is powerful and He can restore our ugliness in our life as long as we turn to Him and not running away from Him.<br />
<br />
My scarf remains the unattractive line that symbolizes my old life is imperfect and powerless to control. But now, my life is still not perfect and powerless to control; however I have Jesus fully in control.<br />

I was touched by one of her songs. My tears was flowing out of my eyes while I was meditating on the words. What a beautiful song!<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QJeF4d2yURY&feature=related">這是什麼道理-關心妍</a></div><div style="text-align: center;"></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div style="text-align: center;">Thanks Tom for this beautiful video! I'm loving it :)</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"> Which one do you like the most sunrise or sunset? I personally enjoy watching sunrise because it gives me a new fresh feeling of the day. Just like having my morning cup of coffee each day.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"> I remembered that I used to walk two hours from home to work by the lakefront in the summer. Along the way, I was thanking God for putting the sun, sky, water, plants and all kind of birds together. The wind was blowing gently against my face and through my dark long hair. It seemed like God’s tender hands touching me and saying, “I love you, my child!” It was a great moment for me to spend quality time with the Lord.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"> How do you spend your time with God? Do you thank God for creating this beautiful earth for you to enjoy? It took our Lord six days to create it and He rested on the seventh day. The Lord is truly a genius artist, no one can compare to Him. I entrust myself to the Lord's hands because everything comes out from His hands would be good. Lord, please continue to mold me and shape me to the person that you want me to be. How about you? Would you want to give your life in the Lord’s hands? He can certainly paint bright color in your life and also paint a right path for you the walk and follow. Don’t you want that? The choice is yours!</div><br />
<div style="text-align: left;"><em><span style="color: blue;">Genesis 1 - Genesis 2: 1-3</span></em><br />
<br />
<em><span style="color: blue;"> In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light. God saw that the light was good, and He separated the light from the darkness. God called the light "day," and the darkness he called "night." And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.</span></em></div><br />
<em><span style="color: blue;"> And God said, "Let there be an expanse between the waters to separate water from water." So God made the expanse and separated the water under the expanse from the water above it. And it was so. God called the expanse "sky." And there was evening, and there was morning—the second day.</span></em><br />
<br />
<em><span style="color: blue;"> And God said, "Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear." And it was so. God called the dry ground "land," and the gathered waters he called "seas." And God saw that it was good.</span></em><br />
<br />
<em><span style="color: blue;"> Then God said, "Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds." And it was so. The land produced vegetation: plants bearing seed according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good. And there was evening, and there was morning—the third day.</span></em><br />
<br />
<em><span style="color: blue;"> And God said, "Let there be lights in the expanse of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark seasons and days and years, and let them be lights in the expanse of the sky to give light on the earth." And it was so. God made two great lights—the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars. God set them in the expanse of the sky to give light on the earth, to govern the day and the night, and to separate light from darkness. And God saw that it was good. And there was evening, and there was morning—the fourth day.</span></em><br />
<br />
<em><span style="color: blue;"> And God said, "Let the water teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the expanse of the sky." So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living and moving thing with which the water teems, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. God blessed them and said, "Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the water in the seas, and let the birds increase on the earth." And there was evening, and there was morning—the fifth day.</span></em><br />
<br />
<em><span style="color: blue;"> And God said, "Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: livestock, creatures that move along the ground, and wild animals, each according to its kind." And it was so. God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.</span></em><br />
<br />
<em><span style="color: blue;"> Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground." So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. God blessed them and said to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground." Then God said, "I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds of the air and all the creatures that move on the ground—everything that has the breath of life in it—I give every green plant for food." And it was so. God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning—the sixth day.</span></em><br />
<br />
<em><span style="color: blue;"> Thus the heavens and the earth were completed in all their vast array. By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work. And God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done.</span></em><br /><br />kithttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17121316394101854474noreply@blogger.com2United States37.09024 -95.7128918.780006163821156 -130.869141 65.400473836178847 -60.556641tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4427479338573174042.post-4747309937017770182010-09-12T20:46:00.000-05:002010-09-12T20:46:54.193-05:00A new Bible study series - the book of Isaiah at BSF<div style="text-align: justify;"> Well...I should have posted this earlier that BSF (Bible Study Fellowship) is going to start this week. We will be studying a new series - the book of Isaiah. To find a BSF near you, please visit: <a href="http://www.bsfinternational.org/">http://www.bsfinternational.org/</a>. BSF is a great Bible study, so I wish you would consider to join. BSF will have introduction for this week, so stop by. No commitment or no purchase necessarily! If you like it, then sign up :) This is a great Bible study which I have been attending over ten years and I wish you will join us.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">I don't know how am I going to handle BSF while I'm working full-time, going to school and volunteering at the women shelter at the same time. Definitely, the Lord needs to give me strength and perseverance to get through the rest of this year. May the Lord gives you peace and perseverance as well.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><em><span style="color: blue;">James 1: 2-5</span></em></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><em><span style="color: blue;">Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.</span></em></div>kithttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17121316394101854474noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4427479338573174042.post-59530913110013720202010-08-17T23:44:00.000-05:002010-08-18T21:28:34.151-05:00Yellow Watermelon<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_J7TbgUcEf4w/TGtFZgFWneI/AAAAAAAABK4/9WmlGCJvrew/s1600/yellow+watermelon.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" ox="true" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_J7TbgUcEf4w/TGtFZgFWneI/AAAAAAAABK4/9WmlGCJvrew/s320/yellow+watermelon.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: blue;">In his wrath the LORD will swallow them up, </span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: blue;"><br />

</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: blue;">You will destroy their descendants from the earth, </span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: blue;"><br />

I felt like making a necklace today but now I find that I didn’t like the way it looks. What do you think?</div><div style="text-align: center;"></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_J7TbgUcEf4w/TGWpH8fW1OI/AAAAAAAABIs/OL9KHLwHUzQ/s1600/what+you+need.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" ox="true" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_J7TbgUcEf4w/TGWpH8fW1OI/AAAAAAAABIs/OL9KHLwHUzQ/s320/what+you+need.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Materials:</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">- Thread, Berkley FireLine Crystal, crystal, 0.13mm diameter, 4-pound test.</div><div style="text-align: center;">- Glass seed beads. Size: 10/0. Color of your choice.</div><div style="text-align: center;">- Larimar chips. Color of your choice.</div><div style="text-align: center;">- 2 bead tips, bottom clamp on, double loop, 3.5mm</div><div style="text-align: center;">- 2 crimp beads, 2mm</div><div style="text-align: center;">- 2 open jump rings, 3.55mm x .03mm</div><div style="text-align: center;">- Lobster claw clasp with loop</div><div style="text-align: center;">- Scotch tapes</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Tools:</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">- Bead crimping plier</div><div style="text-align: center;">- Round nose or flat nose plier</div><div style="text-align: center;">- Scissors</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_J7TbgUcEf4w/TGWpv2KfhRI/AAAAAAAABIw/GrKnLNEZda4/s1600/DSC03239.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" ox="true" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_J7TbgUcEf4w/TGWpv2KfhRI/AAAAAAAABIw/GrKnLNEZda4/s320/DSC03239.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Step 1</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Cut a piece of clear thread 21 inches long and thread 5 larimar chips and glass seed beads until 8 inches are filled, then put a piece of tape at the end to secure it. On the other side, thread only the glass seed beads until 8 inches are filled and then put tape at the end also. The total length is 16 inches long.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_J7TbgUcEf4w/TGWqFOFElHI/AAAAAAAABI0/T9Jyf12I8Rw/s1600/DSC03248.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" ox="true" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_J7TbgUcEf4w/TGWqFOFElHI/AAAAAAAABI0/T9Jyf12I8Rw/s320/DSC03248.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Repeat step 1 six more times to make a total of seven strands. You can basically add as many larimar chips as you want for each strand. I put 5, 6, 7, 8, 7, 6, 5 larimar chips from the top to bottom strands, so that all the larimar chips will appear slightly off the center of the necklace.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_J7TbgUcEf4w/TGWqQMvAZpI/AAAAAAAABI4/eACUfBM_Gi8/s1600/DSC03242.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; cssfloat: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" ox="true" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_J7TbgUcEf4w/TGWqQMvAZpI/AAAAAAAABI4/eACUfBM_Gi8/s320/DSC03242.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_J7TbgUcEf4w/TGWqdaLxGmI/AAAAAAAABI8/0jqs2F_PiE4/s1600/DSC03246.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; cssfloat: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" ox="true" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_J7TbgUcEf4w/TGWqdaLxGmI/AAAAAAAABI8/0jqs2F_PiE4/s320/DSC03246.JPG" width="320" /></a>There are two ways I find that are easier and faster to thread all the tiny little seed beads on the clear thread. You can hold a small amount of seed beads between your thumb and index fingers with the original thread on, then insert the clear thread and go through all the beads, then slide the beads over to the clear thread. Or, you can lay seed beads on the table, and use your left index finger to hold the original thread, then insert the clear thread and slide the beads over to the thread. If you are lucky, sometimes you can thread a lot of beads at the same time.</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_J7TbgUcEf4w/TGWq_640DGI/AAAAAAAABJA/Sa1-04l7Ao4/s1600/DSC03254.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" ox="true" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_J7TbgUcEf4w/TGWq_640DGI/AAAAAAAABJA/Sa1-04l7Ao4/s320/DSC03254.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Step 2</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">After you’re done making seven strands, choose one end of the strands and take off the tapes. Make sure all the strands are line up, then insert a crimp bead, bead tip and seed bead onto the end of the strands.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_J7TbgUcEf4w/TGWrHge3S0I/AAAAAAAABJE/CLMYLKqX1tI/s1600/DSC03255.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" ox="true" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_J7TbgUcEf4w/TGWrHge3S0I/AAAAAAAABJE/CLMYLKqX1tI/s320/DSC03255.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Step 3</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Tie double knots on a seed bead.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_J7TbgUcEf4w/TGWrWIKXpbI/AAAAAAAABJI/XyxTvLq08u8/s1600/DSC03256.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" ox="true" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_J7TbgUcEf4w/TGWrWIKXpbI/AAAAAAAABJI/XyxTvLq08u8/s320/DSC03256.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Step 4</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">The end of the thread goes back through the bead tip and the crimp bead. Pull it tight.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_J7TbgUcEf4w/TGWreNv2JLI/AAAAAAAABJM/Hjw0PH8_A4M/s1600/DSC03258.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" ox="true" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_J7TbgUcEf4w/TGWreNv2JLI/AAAAAAAABJM/Hjw0PH8_A4M/s320/DSC03258.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Step 5</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Use a bead crimping pliers to flatten the crimp bead and use a flat nose plier to tighten the bead tip with a seed bead hidden inside. Cut off the extra strands. Repeat step 2 – 5 on the other end of the strands.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_J7TbgUcEf4w/TGWrlj7-zbI/AAAAAAAABJQ/kFLexMM9unE/s1600/DSC03261.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" ox="true" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_J7TbgUcEf4w/TGWrlj7-zbI/AAAAAAAABJQ/kFLexMM9unE/s320/DSC03261.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Step 6</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Insert two open jump rings on each side of the bead tip. Then put a lobster clasp on one side and a bigger jump ring on the other side.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_J7TbgUcEf4w/TGWruL3Mk9I/AAAAAAAABJU/IVjp3yZTVv0/s1600/finished.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" ox="true" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_J7TbgUcEf4w/TGWruL3Mk9I/AAAAAAAABJU/IVjp3yZTVv0/s320/finished.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Now, you can wear the necklace tomorrow at work, school or everywhere you may go.</div><div style="text-align: center;"></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><em>When I think of jewelry, there is a Bible verse - <span style="color: blue;">Exodus 35:22 All who were willing, men and women alike, came and brought gold jewelry of all kinds: brooches, earrings, rings and ornaments. They all presented their gold as a wave offering to the LORD.</span></em></div><div style="text-align: center;"><em><br />
</em></div><div style="text-align: center;"><em>During this tough economic time, it is very easy (or should I say tempting) for me to not give an offering at church. All the money that I gave, I would rather use on paying my tuition or putting it into my saving account. But I know if I don’t offer my tithe, I will be stealing from Him. I just need to trust Him that He is my provider who always knows what I need.</em></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

My two year old brother, Steven, and four year old sister, Winnie, were still taking a nap in our bedroom. I was six years old.<br />
<br />
I ran to the living room, and turned the television on at low volume to watch my favorite cartoon show. Half an hour later, I heard a noise coming from the bathroom. As I took little steps walking toward it, I could recognize that the noise was running water. The bathroom was really scary; it was dark and had no light on. So I stopped walking and just stared at it. "Daddy, Daddy. Is that you?" I yelled, but no one answered. I ignored it and went back to watch my favorite show.<br />
<br />
Another half hour passed, I heard the water running even harder. I felt scared; and I woke my sister up and asked her to walk with me. We both yelled, "Daddy, Daddy. Is that you?" Again, no one answered. "It might be a ghost." Winnie said. "Stop! It's not. Let's go to watch TV," I said.<br />
<br />
Suddenly, my brother started to cry. As I walked toward the bedroom, "Look! Lots of water is coming this way. Oh no! We need to rescue Steven; if not, he will die," I said to my sister. We ran to the bedroom and took Steven out immediately and put him on the couch telling him not to get down on the floor. Then I went to the storeroom to get the mop to dry the floor. A few seconds later, I felt water splashing on my back. I looked behind me; it was my sister using the broom to dry the floor. "What are you doing? Go get another mop," I said.<br />
<br />
We mopped almost half an hour, but it didn't seem to really help. Our feet were wet, so we wore our high-heels which were printed with a Barbie doll's face on them to walk around the house. My sister and I were playing in the water with the mops. I splashed water on her, and she splashed water back on me. It was fun, and we didn't think about turning the tap off.<br />
<br />
The water was getting higher and higher, and it was up to our ankles. My brother started to cry again; so we all went to my parents' bedroom which was the only area still dry. We closed the door and turned on the television; but I wasn't watching it, instead I kept looking at the door, making sure no water was coming in the room. Unfortunately, I soon saw something sparkling. It was the water again! I asked my sister to pass all the pillows and blankets to me, and put them underneath the door. It really seemed to help.<br />
<br />
Later on, all the pillows and blankets were filled up with water. "We can't stay here, we will die." Winnie said. We jumped on the bed, and opened the door beside it. "Wow, a swimming pool." We got out of the room and the water was up to our calves. We were so excited and forgot all about being scared. My sister and I grabbed the mops again. Also, we turned the wooden chair upside down to make a little boat and put my brother in it. Of course, it wouldn't float.<br />
<br />
The house was filled with laughter and water sounds. The next thing we heard was, "What's going on here?" The deep and angry voice was my father.<br />

The above story reminds me of God sent rain to the earth for forty days and forty nights because of man's wickedness (Genesis 6:5). The flood killed all mankind, animals and all living creatures on the earth. However, only Noah and his family was saved because he was a righteous man and walked with God (Genesis 6:8). After the flood, God made a covenant with Noah, saying that "...never again will all life be cut off by the waters of a flood; never again will there be a flood to destroy the earth." (Genesis 9:11) Also, God used rainbow as a sign of the covenant between Him and the earth. (Genesis 9:13)</div>

God taught me that He is above all things. He doesn't tolerate sins; and He wants us to have relationship with Him. The promise that He made with Noah revealing God loves us and has patient with us. Next time if you see a rainbow, please don't forget the promise He made with you. God always keep His promises!</div>

In these visits I spent two hours each day observing. The first time was in the morning from 9am to 11am, and the second occasion was from 11am to 1pm. My goal was to deepen my understanding of SPH by observing this particular group of students: how they communicate with each other and others, how they learn, how they live and how/what they eat.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">When I first walked in the classroom, three students were having pureed breakfast together and were fed by the main teacher and two special education classroom assistants. Four other students were done eating and waiting patiently in the classroom. There was a large table in the middle of the room and the students sat around the table in their wheelchairs. The room was decorated with colorful posters, a small carpet, a mats area, and almost every object had labels on it; for example, computer, mirror, and trash can.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">During my observations, there were two female and three male Africa-Americans; one Asian male; one Caucasian male; and one Greek female student. I was eager to learn each of the student’s names, and Ms. Wendy who is the SPH teacher used a voice output device to help them to communicate with me. This plastic rectangular device has two build-in recorders and allowed the user to record his or her voice and to put/change two laminated illustrations on top of the device. For example, Ms. Wendy attached one card which said, “What is your name?” and another image said, “My name is…” Also, under each graphic Ms. Wendy could record her voice of “What is your name?” and “My name is (a student’s name)”. Suddenly, this device became the students’ voice as if they were talking to me. I asked one of the students what his name was, and Ms. Wendy pressed a button which said, “My name is Tyrone.” Then she pressed another button which asked me, “What is your name?” And then it was my turn to answer “My name is Kit” to Tyrone. The classroom was also filled with lots of technological devices to help the students to learn. For example, students could learn on a computer instructed by the teacher by pressing a giant plastic green button which was a mouse. It was called a switch. Different computer games could help individual student according to their needs to practice his or her visual and hearing skills. Besides using technology, Ms. Wendy also used magazines, story books, color papers with pictures, and objects with various textures to teach her students through their senses.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">I noticed there were several things the students have in common: they all sat in the wheelchairs, could not talk, needed help with using a pair of scissors or a paint brush, had their own bagpack with extra clothes and attends (disposable adult incontinence products), had their own notebook (for the teacher to write down what they had learned and/or for their parents or guardians to leave comments or questions for the teacher.), no cell phone, no jewelry and used eyes contact. The students would not totally understand what the teacher said to them, but they would respond with beautiful smiles; and some would also wiggle their bodies. Even though the students could not talk, each one of them could make different vocalizations. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">There were quite a few differences: seven students were wearing gym shoes and one student was wearing slippers; two of them had their names written on their shoes. Only one girl had longer braided hair, the rest of them had short hair. Furthermore, six students had at least one bent hand. Merely three students were not wearing a bib, but the rest of them had a bib around their neck because of their constant drooling. Sometimes, some of the students’ bodies would form a fetal position and they would suck their finger to find comfort.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">Regarding their living situations: six of the students were living in nursing homes arranged by their parents or guardians; and two of them were living in group homes arranged by the state. All the students received transportation to and from school by a school bus which had a hydraulic lift and was provided by their nursing home or group home. Half of the class was fed by utilizing G-tubes due to their inability to chew and to shallow food. The other half of the class could eat regular food such as, chili, chicken, or macaroni and cheese; but it had to be blended or pureed so it was easy for the students to shallow. The students’ ages were from 15 to 20 years old; once they turn 22, they will be transferred to a day program with other adults.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">The Inspire Community High School is tremendously aware of SPH students, and is trying its best to mix them into the general student classrooms. Throughout my observation, I had a chance to observe how general and SPH students had an art class together. Although both types of students were sitting separately, they were all in one big classroom doing paper mache masks. The purpose of this was to let the SPH students have contact with other people; and for the general students to know that there are people like SPH and to learn they should not be ignored but included in school and society.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">In conclusion, every SPH student had their own unique characteristic: Jonathan likes people and likes to hug them. Jenny likes to walk even though she is still having trouble balancing herself. Jessie is a quiet lady who loves to look at people and gives them a smile. Yvette likes to read and could answer yes and no by blinking her eyes (one blink means yes and two blinks mean no). Keith is a deep thinker. Tim likes to sleep. Tyrone and Darren like to wiggle their bodies and often laugh when people interact with them. I would like to thank Ms. Wendy for explaining her SPH students’ lives to me and also thank the Inspire Community High School for their mission that is to always give a sense of belonging to the SPH students, to realize that they are valuable and are capable of doing many things. It was a great experience for me to spend my time with all these wonderful people; and I will never forget those beautiful smiles which were on each of the students’ face.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: red;">Note: For privacy reason, all names (including high school) has been changed. Also, the location of the high school is not mentioned.</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />

<span style="color: blue;"></span></strong></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><em><strong><span style="color: blue;">Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. <em><span style="color: blue;">1. Stir coffee, espresso, and 5 tablespoons rum in wide bowl or baking dish until espresso dissolves; set aside.<br />
<br />
2. In bowl of standing mixer fitted with whisk attachment, beat yolks at low speed until just combined. Add sugar and salt and beat at medium-high speed until pale yellow, 1 1/2 to 2 minutes, scraping down bowl with rubber spatula once or twice. Add remaining 4 tablespoons rum and beat at medium speed until just combined, 20 to 30 seconds; scrape bowl. Add mascarpone and beat at medium speed until no lumps remain, 30 to 45 seconds, scraping down bowl once or twice. Transfer mixture to large bowl and set aside.<br />
<br />
3. In now-empty mixer bowl (no need to clean bowl), beat cream at medium speed until frothy, 1 to 1 1/2 minutes. Increase speed to high and continue to beat until cream holds stiff peaks, 1 to 1 1/2 minutes longer. Using rubber spatula, fold one-third of whipped cream into mascarpone mixture to lighten, then gently fold in remaining whipped cream until no white streaks remain. Set mascarpone mixture aside.<br />
<br />
4. Working one at a time, drop half of ladyfingers into coffee mixture, roll, remove, and transfer to 13 by 9-inch glass or ceramic baking dish. (Do not submerge ladyfingers in coffee mixture; entire process should take no longer than 2 to 3 seconds for each cookie.) Arrange soaked cookies in single layer in baking dish, breaking or trimming ladyfingers as needed to fit neatly into dish. <br />
<br />
5. Spread half of mascarpone mixture over ladyfingers; use rubber spatula to spread mixture to sides and into corners of dish and smooth surface. Place 2 tablespoons cocoa in fine-mesh strainer and dust cocoa over mascarpone. <br />

6. Repeat dipping and arrangement of ladyfingers; spread remaining mascarpone mixture over ladyfingers and dust with remaining 1 1/2 tablespoons cocoa. Wipe edges of dish with dry paper towel. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate 6 to 24 hours. Sprinkle with grated chocolate, if using; cut into pieces and serve chilled.<br />

</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: justify;"><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"> My sister just got married a few weeks ago, and I was honored to be her bridesmaid, to stand by her side on her special day. I also was asked to make the floral bouquets. I made a red rose bouquet for her, and a calla lily bouquet for myself.<br />
</div><br />
I looked at the pictures of the floral bouquets of that day. I made them using different stems of flowers and tied them together with long ribbons. All the flowers bloomed at the same time and they withered together at the end. Don’t you think marriage is like a bouquet? Somehow a couple meets each other, and their relationship grows together like the budding and blooming of the flowers. Later on, marriage will bind them together to form unity; just like the ribbon on the bouquet. The marriage will also have an end: one will leave their partner due to sickness or some kind of accident. Then just like the flowers, the marriage will die.<br />
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><br />
</div> Marriage doesn’t automatically mean happiness; there will be days the couple will feel joy together but there also will be a day they will feel frustrated with each other. During the difficulties, will you remember the wedding vows to your spouse? That day on which you said to your spouse, “I do”, you also said, “I do” to God. God is the witness in your marriage and He is willing to help and strengthen your marriage as long as you ask Him.<br />
<br />
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"> Would you like to renew your wedding vows?<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_J7TbgUcEf4w/Sr5DN2pStqI/AAAAAAAAALw/aI4BScNja0k/s1600-h/ice.JPG" style="clear: left; cssfloat: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" iq="true" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_J7TbgUcEf4w/Sr5DN2pStqI/AAAAAAAAALw/aI4BScNja0k/s320/ice.JPG" /></a><br />
</div>I have only partially defrosted my fridge twice in my rental apartment since moving in eight years ago. Ice keeps growing in the attached freezer day after day resulting in less and less room for me to store frozen food. The good thing that has happened is that now I eat more fresh and healthy food. My iced-up freezer prevents me from buying ice-cream or frozen pizza as there is just has no room for that.<br />
</div><br />
<div align="justify">Every time I look at my freezer, it reminds me of my sins and the sins that everybody in the world have been struggling with. Rather than worrying, complaining, stealing (even taking a paperclip from workplace), lying, cheating, getting addicted to different forms of substances, or lusting. If I do not do anything about it, sins keep piling it up as the ice keeps growing thicker in the freezer. I cannot live my life with such burdens. It is good for me to go to God and ask Him to unshackle these struggles for me and be filled with His Holy Spirit and righteousness. No more will I feel worry or guilt, because Christ will forgive and set me free from these bondages. Hopefully, one day I will learn to live a life without sins. Wait a minutes! Does it mean I need to defrost my freezer? No...God helps me please!<br />
